Material:

1. 8 1X6X6 cedar fence plunks

2. 1 box of 1 1/2 screw

3. 4 corner braces

4. MinWax Stain 2750 Jacob

5. While Acrylic paint (used for dry brushing for weathered look )

6. Gray Stain (water proof)

tools: hammer, ruler, power drill

Rusty look (before)

old rusty patio table from big box store. I have my eyes on Canavs teak table @Canadian Tire, but 800$ price tag is not lovely. so I decide to turn this ugly duck into beautiful swan.

plunk woods from Home Depot. roughly cost 80$,

Roll up sleeves for the carpenter work

corner braces are life saver for this project. they hold frames nicely together

use knots and screws to make dent and scratch for a tear and wear look

after 1st stain, looks nice and warm. but in order to match grey frame and chairs . I decided to apply 2 more coats to get wheather look.

2nd coat dry brush paint acrylic white paint on top of stain then sand it off, 做到这一步,还没后悔,也很惊喜,每个步骤都有不同的效果出来,吸引着我很向往 "what's next?"

3rd coat of Grey stain semi transparent. wood grain and white paint are still visible

Final result. A truly weathered look, let's remember 2016.

Summer garden thyme table decor.

I took following photo to demonstrate how the store advertise their products, we have to keep in mind all accessories NOT included. so we won't be surprised when we bought a new furniture, it didn't look pretty or nice in our house as it did in the show room. we all learnt it in a hard way.

Lesson: picture how will you use the new piece in your own house.
